Looks like he just got a twig or something stuck to him... more interesting is he's sitting on the back of a hand, isn't he? He must be a pretty tiny little guy. Very cute.
Oh... fyi... clicking the pick from the Google reader opens it large just fine but clicking it from your blog opens it very large and without scroll bars. You have to right click it and View Image to get it smaller... still no scroll bars. In Firefox.

JC, I think I fixed the problem. Wanted to say too that if you do enlarge, the thing does seem to be a part of his body.

Hard to tell - but it looks like some kind of a twig - but could also be a fishing hook?
