I'm In!
The exhibit will run August 1st through September 28th and incorporates all types of media. For those who don't know, our area is filled with many talented and, in some instances, well known artisans. Potters, wood turners, painters, and photographers are all well represented here...not to mention musicians.
For this exhibit each artist could submit three pieces. When I decided to throw my hat into the ring, I had to decide which three I wanted to show. I thought about mixing it up with birds and animals or even a landscape. In the end though, I decided to keep it simple and went with three birds and chose three that I thought would be suitable in a gallery setting. You might recognize the first two...I posted them on Wordless Wednesday here a while back.
Wish me luck!

I bet you know someone who can make one ?? Splendid choices. Can't wait to see them up and blendidng with others!! yay yay yay

These photos are amazing! The birds are gorgeous and you have certainly done them justice with some lovely compositions. How did you get the dark background with the Flamingos?
Congratulations on being selected!

I confess the flamingos had some photoshop done to them…the background was mostly dark - they were taken in captivity and their setting was such – but I filled it in to make it completely black for effect. The gallery didn’t have any criteria that photographs couldn’t be altered. I have no problem doing that unless the photo is supposed to be journalism. Art is art!

Gorgeous - and congratulations! That is so cool! And good choices, too!

Congratulations! No wonder they were chosen...they are stunning! Check on American Frame.com....they do really nice work and have a wide variety and it's quite reasonable.

Congratulations! They're beautiful photos. You might want to try Dick Blick's wood frames, they're beautiful and easy to wire. Go to dickblick.com and search for "blick gallery wood frames" I think that'll bring 'em up. :)

Thanks all for all the pats on the back. It's nice to have a community of friends to share good news with! By the way, I went to Christiansburg today and found three perfect ready-made frames. Each is different and each suits the photo for it so much better than the frame I had them in. Now they look significant and ready for prime time :-)

Congratulations! A well deserved honor. And think of it not as self-promotion, but promotion of the event. And now that I've said that, I want to add that self promotion is not a bad thing nor is sharing your joy with the rest of us.
