From Wikipedia:

The Wrinkled Hornbill or Sunda Wrinkled Hornbill (Aceros corrugatus) is a medium-sized hornbill which is a resident breeder in Malaysia and Indonesia.  It's a forest species and eats mainly fruit, although it will eat small animals like frogs and insects.  Wrinkled Hornbills do not drink, but get the water they need from their food.  These birds are monogamous and remain in a pair for life.  They use holes found in trees for nests.  The  nesting mother will plaster over the entrance with mud and droppings for safety and the chicks are fed exclusively by the male, who regurgitates food for them.

Oh what a sweetheart! I have never seen one before, not on print or in person. Thanks. It does fit the theme.

Happy weekend. And thanks for the visit.

That's a great choice for the theme. Beautiful bird.

Amazing shot - beautiful bird, too!

Stunning!

WOW GORGEOUS!!!!

brand new info for me sandy

Oh I love those eyelashes! And the blue colouring around the eyes reminds me a little of helmeted guinea fowl (of which I have plenty in my garden). I wonder if this member of the hornbill species is as sassy as the Yellow-billed Hornbill or the Ground Hornbill.

Awwww-sum! Wow! This is wonderful and the colors are so vibrant! I've always gotten discouraged trying to takes pics through a gate but you show you can make it work. Just beautiful!

That's beautiful! Nice work with the manual focus there. :)

Gorgeous bird! Has human looking eyes, doesn't it?
Really colorful!
Cheers, Klaus
