the sash seems to "jump out" of the photo... a wonderful capture! is it a photographed painting or a tapestry?

Hi, beautiful picture, I have tried to work out what it is. My dictionary says sash= sliding door or window?? Is that right or is it some kind of painted treasure chest. Sorry for asking ;-)

This is actually a part of a sculpture inside a mission in Arizona. It's the sash around the waist of a monk/priest.

The colors are striking and beautiful. I love the angle in which you captured this. I love the colors in missions, they are just so rich and vibrant.

That's is very beautiful. I love the colors and design.
You asked what part of NC the garden chess set was in, on my blog. That one is in Chapel Hill, NC. I also post shots from The arboretum in Raleigh, NC and Duke Gardens in Durham, NC although more on my other blog. I live in the triangle area of NC in the middle of the state and each university has big gardens in the 3 towns that are close together.
