Photo Hunt - Scary

HEAD ON-2-Edit-2-Edit

bydamanti

A scary Halloween picture would have been an appropriate one this week, but since I had none, I've decided to post this...trust me...a very scary fellow!  And no, I wasn't close when I took this shot.  I was on a boat and he was on shore...maybe 30 yards away.  I leave close encounters with alligators to Klaus!

Yikes! That's about 30 yards closer than I would have been!! :)

Really scary! I would have run instead of thinking to take a picture. He looks as if he is looking forward to an appatizing meal! Just look at the colour of his mouth and his gleaming eyes. Brrrrrrr

Great shot!

Gees! Crikey! Too close for me!
Have a great weekend! :)

once I was taking in the raw beauty of Fisheating C(reek in Venus and just thinking (with my 3 little dogs) what a tranquil place, when all of a sudden a loud whack and a dead tree from the other side of the river bank was now face to face with me - zig zag up the incline as fast as I could go- Later I told a lady and she said that old guy has been in that spot forever..I bet...

Great capture June!! Definitely scary!

I would be rather afraid of running into one these guys! What big sharp teeth s/he has!

He seems to be thinking how good you look! :-) Kinda reminds me of the big, bad wolf, lol. Great shot!

Better to use the zoom on your camera, hahahaha.
I have seen on TV that they can be very fast.

Yikes! I've never seen one in person in the wild, and it would definitely scare me! Great shot.

Yikes! I mean seriously, even if you were 30 yards away.

It's scary how those critters just blend in!

I hope you have time to come see my scary photos, and leave your link, too. http://newyorktraveler.net/photo-hunters-scary/

That is too close for comfort

Lots of alligator/Crocodiles this week!
Indeed scary! I like to see them locked up (for my own selfish reasons)

Not only scary, downright terrifying. Good choice. Happy weekend and thanks for visiting.

I agree they are great to see from afar! Happy weekend

I have friends who are dedicated environmentalists who related a tragic story to me. They had a friend visiting from out of town who wanted to take her dog with her on a trip to Everglades National Park. My friends tried to talk her out of the idea, but she wouldn't budge. As they were walking down the Flamingo Trail, an alligator snatched the little dog and carried him away. Definitely a major traumatic event for his owner. Alligators are very quick when they need to be. There are quite a few crocodiles in Everglades National Park as well as in the Florida Power & Light reserve east of the Park.

I'm with you on that... further away is better!

30 yards away?!! A hundred yards would be too close for me ;O)
Just as well I live in the UK!

scary indeed.

Thanks for stopping by my PH.

Oh, that brings back memories. I grew up in FL and had several encounters with alligators. What a great picture!

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Oh yeah! That works for "scary" alright! Yeesh!

Stop by if you get the chance: http://flamingofotos.blogspot.com

Have a scary week!

Oh my! Scary! I'm glad you were in a boat far away. ;-)

Paz

sharp teeth, wouldn't want to near that

thanks for your visit

wow, scary. great shot.

Wow! I can't even imagine being anywhere close enough to get a shot like this! Even 30 yards away would be too close for comfort for me. It made for a great photo though.
