What a wonderful shot for the theme, June!! I was an exchange student in highschool in the US in 1975 (is it really that long ago??) and I participated in a local activity to paint the fire hydrants red/white/blue for the bicentennial... What great memories!!

I think they had special tools; now that I think about it, I think sometimes even the fire department or police would open them.
We have one in front of our house - dangerous until we put a high flag on top of it (dad backed into it twice in winter, thinking it was a mound of snow he could plow through - ouch).
