Green Heron At Green Cay

Mr. Green Heron couldn't stop to talk with me while on a recent visit to Green Cay Wetlands.  He had places to go, people to see!  In fact, I think I heard him saying "I'm late, I'm late for a very important date" as he scurried by... 

Yes...he definitely was in a rush!

Flashback Friday - Fountain Pens

When was the last time you used...or seen somebody use...a fountain pen?  Jeez, I'm wondering too how many readers may NEVER have seen one.  That's an incredible thought. 

Remember the mess of having to draw the ink out of the well?  Remember the blobs of ink on the paper?  Remember needing to blow it dry before folding the paper over?  OK...remember actually writing on paper? Smile.

A Turn Of The Head

This is my favorite Macaw.  He lives at Butterfly World in Pompano Beach, Florida and was the inspiration for the first photograph I sold, and subsequently, for my business card.  I used a miniature  version of that photo for my logo.  He's a hard one to capture as he  always sits on the back branch, the good shots I get are especially cherished.

Macro Monday - Dew Drops

This past week I bought a barely used macro lens from a friend.   It's a Tokina f2.8 100mm. He was selling it and another wide angle lens to help pay for his new telephoto.  I've long wanted one, but couldn't bring myself to pay the price for the Nikon 105mm.  So when he announced his intention...and his price...I jumped.  He let me play with it some before purchasing and while I definitely am going to have a learning curve, I could tell I was going to be happy with it.  This photo was taken with it.
